Dang.

I know I’m late on the sci-fi bandwagon, but just in the past month or so I’ve finally started digging into the Firefly series. The recent surge in viewing is entirely due to the show’s availability on hulu.

OH MAN.

What a freakishly good show! For those of you not in the know, Firefly is a mix of sci-fi and western. There were only ever 11 shows that were aired but it’s developed a pretty significant following. The producers made a movie ‘Serenity’ to close all the open loops so if you haven’t seen that yet, watch the TV show first. I’m about 6 episodes in and I’m extremely pleased with the depth of the plot.

I strongly encourage those of you who haven’t seen it to check it out.

Just make sure you watch the Series first. Follow the canon. If for no other reason than they change a number of character traits and history of the show.

There’s been rumor of a second and third movies to fill in adventures in between the end of the 13 episodes and the movie. But I doubt it will ever happen.

Certainly not ALL of them. Many of the biggies were covered, but there are so many small things that I wish they had gotten 8 seasons to develop and explore.

So late on the bandwagon! All is forgiven, though.

Speaking of Sci Fi bandwagons….You should start Netflixing/Tivo/steal Battlestar Gallactica. Shauna and I have been hooked. Now that the show is over is a good tiem to watch everything! 4 years of great writing!

Totally, whole-heartedly agree. My wife and I started netflixing it in November, and got caught up 5 episodes before the end. It gets a little weak towards the finish, but still pretty good.

Battlestar Galactica is awesome. I’m almost through the series, and I’m not sure I like where it’s going. I expected a more intense plot. But I still vouch for the overall awesomeness of the show.

    Yes, it’s about time.
Anybody catch Summer’s cameo in The Big Bang Theory?

Nathan Fillion’s charisma in that series is fantastic, but Jayne is my favorite TV character ever.
Thank you Ian for introducing me to it all.

Best show ever. Very intense sometimes, I do not recommend watching just before bedtime.
