Makoto Nagano

The Japanese Ninja Warrior obstacle course contains 4 stages.

Stage one is all about speed and balance. Get to the end within the time allotment, without falling.

Stage two also has a time limit which varies in length depending on how challenging the obstacles are. The final three challenges are always the same: Three doors, each heavier than the last, leading to the final timed buzzer.

Stage three is different as there is no time limit. Instead, there are a series of exceedingly difficult obstacles that focus heavily on upper body strength and grip strength.

Stage four.

Few contestants have reached the fourth and final stage. In this stage the contestants must scale a 40 foot wall and a 30 foot rope in a mere thirty seconds. Only two individuals have ever completed the course.

Makoto Nagano was one of them.

This 33 year old commercial fisherman outperformed Olympians, Martial artists, Professional wrestlers, and firefighters

Makoto Nagano is a true hero.

I want to know what the magic grip spray that he puts on his hands is and where I can get it.

    That is awesome.

Apparently commercial fisherman rock at that gameshow? I saw it once, and the dude was literally 10 feet of rope from the final thing, and he couldn’t go any more. He had 15 seconds left too. Japanese commercial fisherman: don’t fight ’em.

Not surprising I guess, fisherman have to work pretty hard for hours, all those other professions perform/work for relatively short amounts of time.

I like how crazy the commentator goes at the end.
    [something Japanese]AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!

Kurt, the spray might make your hands super-sticky, but you’ll still weigh 800 pounds.

Makoto Nagano is simply the best, I’ve watched him in both Viking and Ninja Warrior, and his skills are simply superb; besides he’s humble and nice, smiling and sweet. (I want a man just like him) ;)
