SKYLINE 24!

Wow, tons of people got last week’s puzzle. I’m amazed.

Special awards go to Diane and JonAbad who were the first to identify the skyline of Rio De Janeiro (and did so within minutes of one another) and UUIG for not only correctly identifying the Great Wall, but also the location along it as Badaling… the prime tourist location along the wall and, coincidently, where I myself traversed its winding path.

So, here we are. Another Monday, another Skyline contest.

This week we have a skyline from one of my favorite locations. I am certain some of you will quickly identify it.
Skyline!

As for the satellite? I must admit it isn’t as immediately recognizable as I thought it would be.
Satellite!

Good luck!

Whoah I got Rio and the Great Wall, without any research too!

No idea for the skyline but the satellite looks kind of like a theme park (Disney World ?).

I must admit this is probably the easiest satellite for me. The coolest thing I’ve ever done there was participate in an intramural canoe league with my coworkers. We got to race other teams around those two islands in the upper left of the image. We had to start at about 4am to avoid people seeing us, and being one of about 60 people in that whole place felt really neat.

Satellite– I agree with the others. In fact, way back when Mike D. was asking people to submit skyline photos, I think I submitted a few interesting satellite images, too. One of those was Disney World, so I’ve already seen this one.

Skyline– I actually know this one, but I’ve never been.

Skyline – I visited in 2002 right after graduation. My people were so gracious and the wine was inexpensive but fantastic. I also got chased by a young Italian man on his bicycle for stealing his love interest. As he furiously pedaled at me (only to repeatedly dodge at the last second), he kept yelling “Bella! Bella! But I love you!!” to a girl he had met only about 2 hours earlier.

Riomaggiore was cool (pretty sure that’s the skyline), but I think that one of my favorite parts was the statue in Monterosso (the link below).

Monterosso was also the place where my friends and I waited on the platform for 4 hours (on a Thursday afternoon) for a train that doesn’t run on Thursdays. Brilliant…
