Sander’s on night shift for the next few days 6pm-6am. And mikeG is right on, we’re trying to catch up on July. Ahh well, such is life in the corporate world. As a result, I get to drive the company van for the next few days. Booya!
in other news, we continue to work on The Garage of Disco. This past Monday we tore down the rest of the area where we will soon build a climbing wall. It’s been good to have Sander around, being that he’s an electrical engineer. Granted most of the stuff we’re doing is simple wiring, but it’s handy to have an expert in the house.
As you can see, the corner is really beginning to take shape.
Once the climbing wall is done, and the trash is out of the garage, perhaps then we will have a mammoth house party. you can be sure to expect plenty of Rock. And plenty of Disco.
That climbing wall is going to be awesome!! I told my coworker about it, and he told me a story about when he was in grad school. There was one building that had a seven-story staircase that was square, so that it had about a 8′ square hole going all the way down. He and his buddy attached ropes to the top of the staircase, and rappelled all the way down on several occasions.
House of Rock (Climbing)
I could never pull that one off, because:
a) I live in an apartment
b) There’s a climbing gym 214 feet from my apartment
c) If I did make a route on the outside of my apartment (or rappelled from my 6th floor balcony), the seagulls would surely consume me.
the only thing your garage needs now is a fog machine.
I’d like to put a full gym in there as well. Because that’d be awesome. Maybe add insulation and heat for the winter.
We also need a suspended dance floor and a ball pit. Maybe a dunk tank, an observatory roof platform, and an underground batcave.
You had to work a 12 hour shift??? From 6pm-6am?!?! Wow… I have never been more glad that I no longer work there!!! And if I hadn’t quit already I would’ve been totally looking for a new job!!
JEOPARDY!
mike d: “Alex I’ll take ‘comments on mikedidonato’s website for $800′”
Trebek: ‘The answer is: Pam’s comment.’
beep-boop!
Trebek: ‘mike d’
mike d: “What is the worst thing that you could say to an employee of your old company?”
Trebek: that’s correct, bringing your score to $9,200
No wonder I started looking for a new job. Being overworked, underpaid, and not appreciated at all is no place I want to be. 12hrs for the price of 8, looks like the company is getting a good deal and you are getting ripped off. To keep you motivated, just remember that eventually you will work somewhere better.
I think Mike beats Pam, but I don’t work there so I can’t verify such things.
I feel like I’m being attacked! yes, Mike’s insults of my company exceed Pam’s.
I won’t defend this place except to say I like it, I like the people, and I think that it holds potential for great success. Every job will have its downside, and I’d rather that my company suffer through floods than suffer through droughts.
Mike D, how did you get your other $8400?
If you install a ball pit, I must make a pilgrimage to Connecticut. (My best friend lives there anyway).
Somehow seeing Sander balancing precariously on a saw-horse doesn’t phase me in the least. I’m surprised he hasn’t electricuted or killed himself yet.
btw…how’s the mangled arm doin’ Sander?
I was actually fairly well-balanced. The saw didn’t really put up too much fuss. Plus, I rule at that kinda thing.
My arm is fine. And hey, I got the oil filter off despite the horrible pain, so THERE.
