Until this trip, I had only a very limited exposure to Canada. But now that I have experienced the glory that is Lake Louise, I think I want to move here forever.
We started the drive from Calgary to Banff shortly after our customer meetings. Liz, my travel companion for this part of my trip, is Canadian and acted as a fantastic tour guide. She brought us up to Lake Louise in Banff.
Prepare yourselves. The following pictures might make you change citizenship.
That ethereal glow is not entirely camera generated. It really looked like some sort of fantasy land of fiction. We took a walk along the west side of the lake and as the sun fell behind the mountains, the hazy gloss over the landscape faded.
Lake Louise is a glacier lake. The water was eerily clear and had an amazingly beautiful color to it.
After ample walking and leisure time on the edge of the lake, we went inside a hotel that stood on the Lake’s north side, and sat down at a restaurant overlooking the glory. We had a platter of cheese and another of antipasto. We chatted and looked across what very well might be the most beautiful landscape I’ve ever seen.
Way to go Canada. I’m totally in love with you.
Beautiful!
Awesome. I was really jealous when I saw you were headed to Calgary and insanely jealous to see you have driven to Banff, the whole area is high up on the lists of places in North America I want to travel too.
Did you take those pictures Mike?
yes. It’s hard to believe, I know. Especially since they aren’t grossly crooked.
Let it be known that I tried very hard to keep the camera straight – yet still… tilted pictures are in the mix.
I have grown to enjoy what I have come to call “Mike’s Slant on Life: a Photojournalistic Journey”
Did the love affair with Canada start with this trip or with our trip in June 2006?
Admittedly, there was very little love for Canada in 2006.
So beautiful! When i see the picture i feel very touch! Hope one day i can be the place!Good job!
