What a successful Sweater Thursday! I send my heartfelt internet thanks out to all those people who participated in this season’s first sweaterthon. Second to the incredible fashion, I laughed at the unexpected Map theme that popped up. Perhaps there will be future subtle unofficial background related themes in upcoming Sweater Thursday posts. These themes will be unspoken. We’ll just see if themes develop.
I had a good laugh yesterday when shortly after I posted the sweater Thursday content, Ben sent me a message
“1960 called, they want their phone back.”

It’s true. My phone is really old. I actually had one that looked like it was from the late 80’s, but I mistakenly poured water all over it and was forced to search the abandoned mezzanine for a replacement.

I think it’d be fun to have a phone showdown.
If you’d like to participate, e-mail me a picture of your work phone. Next week I’ll take any that I’ve received and put the collection together.

Thanks again to all the sweater Thursday participants!!
Can that phone do 3-way and conference calls?
Unlikely, though I’m still not sure what the lightning bolt button does. I’ve never pressed it.
Believe it or not these phones cost like $50 new. They are pretty solid. The bottom right button is the flash button.
As in Call the Flash?
Yes, I think that’s what he means. Next time i’m in trouble… I’ll know what to do.
If home phones were eligible, we might win!!!!
Go ROTARY!
Don’t feel badly about the dinosaur phone – my former employer ONLY had dinosaur phones. We put people on hold by removing the spiral cord from the jack in the receiver. I worked for a software company.
And no Flash button :(
