Tomorrow, I will be wearing a sweater. Any rumors you heard otherwise were probably lies spread by less than reliable news organizations. We will, however, be changing the name for this special sweater Thursday.
Tomorrow shall be: Thanksgiving Thermal Thursday.
Bring out your best sweater. Tomorrow we give thanks to the warmth of wool, the comfort of cotton, and the perfection of padded polyester. The post may be updated a little later than usual in the morning. Don’t get antsy if I sleep in.
The good news is that today is Sweater Thursday. The bad news is that last night I hit a deer with Rod Zapa.
Thank heavens I have sweaters aplenty to cheer me up.
Tavis is back for more sweater!
I have come to look forward to Tavis’ sweater each week. I think his contributions will maintain a high level of quality for this entire season of sweaters. This week Tavis is playing the season. You can tell because his sweater matches his November calendar.
This week we have our first international sweater. A big MikeDiDonato.com welcome to SiSi from China.
We’re glad to have you with us SiSi. It’s a warming thought knowing that our sweatered community is spreading internationally. Maybe someday sweaters will touch each continent. Antarctica might be tough, but sweatery hope can overcome any obstacle.
Patrick joins us from the west coast.
Props to Patrick. He sent me his sweater at 5:45am pacific coast time. Way to be a trooper Patrick!! We all appreciate your resolve. I feel I should also note, wool sweaters are a personal favorite. There’s some extra degree of authenticity in wool sweaters.
Aubree is up next!
Aubree, you look awesome in this ribbed purple trutleneck sweater. How vibrant and exciting! It’s clear you put it all on the table on sweater Thursdays. We’re glad to have you here.
Jon Abad arrives next, and doesn’t disappoint!
Jon Abad, you dapper, dangerous, man. If your sweater vest wasn’t enough, your stylish glasses frame, and dignified look of austerity strikes fear in all who oppose you. You are a man of action and pose. You are sweatered with rigid pride.
Colleen is back for more!
Colleen! Another bold colorful look this week! Great choice. Colleen sent her picture in with a note:
In last week’s comments I said that I would take a pic this week with Google (my cat – not sure if you ever met him in college) but he was not cooperating this morning. He refused to lift his head up. So here’s a pic without him, but I might submit another one tonight if he’s feeling photogenic.
We can’t wait to meet Google! I think you should save him for next week though. Plenty more sweater weeks ahead! And I seriously love that blue color. It’s so vivid!
Eileen sent in a picture!
Wow Eileen! What a stark contrast to the mangledwear of last week! You really brought the whole outfit together with the matching earrings and necklace. Your layering color is an excellent choice, it highlights your rosy complexion. The Management here at MikeDiDonato.com is impressed.
A big hello to newcomer Kevin Black!
Kevin Black has joined us with a zippered blue on red choice. Kevin Black, it is obvious to me that you are happy and excited about Sweater Thursday. I am very pleased to share this weekly event with you. Excitement over sweaters is only a good thing.
Are you wearing a sweater today? E-mail a picture to MikeDiDonato AT gmail D0T com and I will update the post.
Thanks to all participants. We’re glad to have you with us.
The internet has reminded us yet again that today is none other than Sweater Thursday. Despite the sweater photos in my inbox… I forgot. I apologize! Oh man, I feel so shamed.
BUT, last night I took out my telescope and snapped some pictures of Jupiter – which is kinda like the sweater wearing uncle at the family reunion of our solar system.
I think I could probably take a better picture, but we’ll save that for another day. Let’s get to the rest of our sweatered peers.
We have a few newcomers in our midst. Let’s all say hello to Andy. Hi Andy!
Andy is looking great in his V-neck. I’m going to pretend that his dog Toby is wearing a matching sweater.
Next up? Aubree
Two things to note in this picture. First, Aubree’s sweater is mega-classy. Second, so too is her plaid water bottle- I am jealous. Welcome to Sweater Thursday Aubree!
Ben’s up next!
I am a fan of the zipper collared sweater. I think I would wear these more frequently on Sweater Thursdays except that they don’t work as well with ties.
Colleen is back!
I love that color Colleen. I’m not sure what its official name is, but it’s probably something like “Impressively Aqua”
Colleen’s twin sister Erin is jumping on the sweater train today too!
I really enjoy Argyle. I need to purchase more argyle sweaters.
Next up, our newest sweatered friend proves that sweaters aren’t just for those of us with opposable thumbs. Let’s welcome Austin to Sweater Thursday.
Great choice Austin. Great choice. (thanks to Sara in Savannah for this contribution)
Jocelyn is back!
Apparently Penny wasn’t too pleased to be forced into a photo-op this morning. Still, it was worth it for the sweaters.
Eileen joins us with a homemade sweater!
I’m going to paste Eileen’s comments direct as I find them hilarious.
This one’s homemade, and as promised – it’s mangled, and my first example of my new fall fashion line: manglewear. It’s way too long – goes to about mid-thigh, and the sleeves need to be rolled and pinned back because they’re about 3 inches too long as well. I’m the best! Time for me to pay more attention while I knit.
ha ha! Any homemade sweater is a great one. I stand by this. mostly.
Patrick enters his first sweater of the season on a surprisingly cloudy Seattle day. He’s wearing red stripes in honor of Veterans day!
Sweater Update!
A bunch more sweaters have come in! What a day!
Tavis returns!
Tavis is wearing a homemade skully sweater. Look at his intensity!
Tavis’ wife Julie joins us as well
This picture looks like it might have been taken in an elementary school. I am mildly concerned for our future generation of alcoholics.
Finally, we have Elizabeth!
Elizabeth, I love the contrasting colors in your sweater. It’s a bold vibrant sweater that speaks to your ability to dominate your cubical environment.

I’m sporting an Argyle sweater today with collared white shirt and hot PRS guitar. Oh man. You can hear the shred.
Aaron joins us with the following quip:
Today I’m rocking a nice fall number. It won’t be long before it’s winter and this guy is no longer appropriate. In the back are traditional Korean masks given to me by a customer and the piece of glass is my award from last week.
Nice sweater Aaron!! and awesome Korean masks!
Three cheers for crafts! Jocelyn pulls out a purplish sweater. Also? i’m jealous of her coffee.
Kevin joins us from behind his drum set. He enjoys the rock.
Eileen joins us in a swath of gray. She matches the rainy skies that currently plague New England.
Check out Mykal in a cornucopia of autumnal colored stripes!
Tavis joins us this week. Mega bonus points for the Hobbes picture in the background!! Apparently we have a lot to expect from Tavis. In his words:
So here is my virgin submission. I went fairly tame this week, didn’t want to take first place and make everyone jealous on my first go round.
We can’t wait for your wild submissions Tavis!!
