At the Breakfast Table
22 comments
Welcome to the first MikeDiDonato.com puzzle.
I have been working on the 2005 puzzleboat challenge with a few friends and decided to take the next step in puzzledom and make my own.
The rules are simple:
1. all sources are fair game. I encourage the use of the internet – though mega props if you can do it without
2. the first person to comment on this post with the exact correct answer to the puzzle wins
3. feel free to work in teams – though only one prize will be awarded
There is no time limit.
The winner will receive a plate of delicious brownies and a homemade silk-screened breakfast squad t-shirt.
I will mail the prize to the winner, anywhere in the world. Though if customs steals the brownies, I probably won’t send another batch.
And now… AT THE BREAKFAST TABLE!

Here’s the file alone if you’d like to print it.
It’s a fairly tough puzzle. Don’t get discouraged if you hit a wall.
Good luck!

Yeah I did feel kind of bad for ruining it so soon. Thanks for blocking out what I already put.
Back to the drawing board, I guess!

“Don’t get discouraged if you hit a wall.”
I think I’ve hit a brick wall.
I’m feeling slightly discouraged.
I’m hoping that I wake up in the middle of the night with a “eureka” moment!
How long before you start giving us little hints? ;)

Don’t be discouraged! You’re so very close!
It looks like most people are having a tough time breaking out of the breakfast stage into the lunch stage.
If no one has conquered the puzzle by Friday, I will post a hint. Though, very likely, the hint will be in the form of another puzzle.

I’m enjoying the puzzle so far. I’m currently trying to figure out how to use breakfast to find lunch.
Great puzzle so far

…Or more accurately, scambled eggs?
I really hope that’s it, because I’ve been playing with these numbers every way I can think of, and “eggs” is the only word I can make that’s, well, a word.

Alas! Scrambled eggs is not the final answer. It sounds like you’re stuck with the solutions to the numbers with no real idea yet on how to incorporate them into the boxes. Is that right?
There are clues within the puzzle itself that might help guide you into the proper path. My recommendation is that you take a close look at the wordage within the puzzle to try and find its second theme.
The path is subtle, but it’s there!

I gotta say, I’m actually a little disappointed the final step wasn’t more difficult.
