Promotion.

It is with great pride that I disclose to you my promotion to Marketing Manager at my company. This is a very exciting move for me firstly because it is entirely new and not engineering, and secondly because it will hopefully act as a major stepping stone for me into the world of upper management.

The execs have a very aggressive schedule for me. The hope is that I will help push our business into a new era.

So where do you come in? Well, I don’t have an official title yet. ‘Marketing Manager’ is our fill in title until something more fitting comes up. Any recommendations?

Company Christmas Party

For six years, SIX YEARS!, I have been patiently waiting at my company’s yearly Christmas party for my moment to shine. I have politely applauded as others have had their raffle ticket numbers called. I have given the obligatory words of encouragement to my cube neighbor as they walk away with their new prized possessions. I’ve pretended to congratulate winners on their triumphant gift card or tin of cookies that I secretly covet. But this Christmas, the years of waiting finally paid off. This year, the prize of choice was a basket full of chocolate. If ever I needed to win, this was the year.

Good morning!

Sadly, I was unable to finish my Roller Derby recap last night, so that will most likely be making it up onto the website tonight. At the moment, I am sitting at Bradley Airport, about to begin the first of two grand tours this Fall 2010.

The Map of Travel

While busy, this trip should be a lot of fun. I’m zipping up to Calgary first to meet with a potential customer. Then it’s down to Chicago where I will be picked up by Tim. We’re going to drive up to Grand Rapids to show our support to the Connecticut Roller Girls who are competing against Grand Raggidy. Then, it’s back to Chicago where I’ll meet with Jocelyn for an afternoon of football and then Caitlin for adventures and an open mic performance. This is followed by a flurry of customer visits in Chicago on Monday and Tuesday, and then I’m off to Houston to visit another company with my boss. I’ll finally be getting back to Connecticut on the 29th of October.

Intense!

I have some very exciting updates pending for the garage – and don’t forget to send me your sweater photos tomorrow. The pictures might go up a little late because of all my travel-ness, but it shall still be wildly fun.

Luxembourg

Provided all went well, I should be in Luxembourg when this post appears. I’m flying Air France to CDG (ugh) and then heading from CDG to Luxembourg, Luxembourg. I’m not sure how far outside of the city our meetings will take place, but being that it’s such a small country I can only assume we won’t have far to travel once we land.

I have brought my camera so hopefully tomorrow (or later today) will see an update with a few pictures.

Until then!
