Sick Day

I took a sick day today. Curiously, I’m getting more work done at home than I usually do at work. It’s amazing what an interruption free day can do!

My work ethic has boosted dramatically in the last few years. I hope it keeps climbing. It feels great to steamroll my to-do lists. I always promised myself that I wouldn’t be the kind of guy to look back and say “Wow, I had it easy back then” so I will resist the urge to state those words – instead, I will say that I really had no clue as to how intense things could get. Furthermore, I have the sneaking suspicion that there’s so much more intensity down the road. Right now, life is pretty smooth sailing. I’ve got a great job that is demanding, but not oppressive. I’ve got a great social life, good pals, a sweet guitar, and adventures planned aplenty!

So here’s to enjoying life today. Even if today is a sick day spent at home. I’m going to cherish this cup of tea, this laptop, and this box of kleenex as much as my head cold lets me.

Remember when we sat around eating a gigantic can of beans with wooden spoons out of the pot playing Halo, and the biggest challenge in our life was beating Ben on Blood Gulch. Boy….we had it easy then.
