Smurf-berries.

My coworker Pete’s a pretty intense dude. He listens to Slipknot and Disturbed, races muscle cars, and is often likened to Stone Cold Steve Austin in his appearance and general temperment. He’s still a family man though and has four children of his own between the ages of 3 and 11.

One of his daughters loves loves loves to play on her iPod touch. Recently she’s been playing a lot of Smurfs’ Village. Smurfs’ Village is a simple game of simple adventures. The website advertising said app describes the fun:

Gargamel found the Smurfs’ village and scattered the Smurfs far and wide. With Papa Smurf’s guidance, it’s up to you to build a new village for the Smurfs to call home.

Based on the original cartoon and comic art, players begin the game with only a single mushroom house and a lone plowed plot of land. From there, things quickly progress, allowing players to build specialized houses, elaborate gardens with colorful crops, bridges to span running rivers, trodden paths, and more

Adding to the adventure, you can save time by using your Smurf-Berries to speed up the growth of your village! Just buy a couple smurf-berries and then use them as you wish! How convenient!

And just like that, Stone-Cold Pete received a credit card bill with $160 worth of Smurf Berries that his daughter had purchased to enhance her village.

$160 of Smurf-Berries.

I’d feel bad if it wasn’t so hilarious.
