We made it through August and, I dare say, Augustography was a huge success. Yeah… we all had some crappy pictures, we all missed some days, and we all felt the burden of another daily task. But, we also had some great moments.
Every single participant had at least one submission that really floored me with its creativity and artsiness. And it’s so wonderful to learn that Mika is continuing onward with more pictures for her blog and that Pete is starting up a new theme of uncatagorized pictures for his website. It’s fun to know that this experiment influenced people. As for me? I learned a lot about my camera. Come the last week of Augustography I found myself venturing away from the automatic settings and exploring the depths (or at least the slightly deeper shallows) of my camera functionality.
So a big thank you to all those who participated and all those who walked with us during those 31 days. I’d like to do another “30 days of… ” at some point. But I think we might all need a break from the pictoral onslaught. I never thought I’d say it, but it’s kinda nice to lay down some text.
