Sweater Thursday

Hello internets.

The good news is that today is Sweater Thursday. The bad news is that last night I hit a deer with Rod Zapa.

Brown V-Neck, Pink Tie, Busted Car

Thank heavens I have sweaters aplenty to cheer me up.

Tavis is back for more sweater!

Tavis' sweater is Novemberific!

I have come to look forward to Tavis’ sweater each week. I think his contributions will maintain a high level of quality for this entire season of sweaters. This week Tavis is playing the season. You can tell because his sweater matches his November calendar.

This week we have our first international sweater. A big MikeDiDonato.com welcome to SiSi from China.

SiSi rockin a free flowing gray sweater

We’re glad to have you with us SiSi. It’s a warming thought knowing that our sweatered community is spreading internationally. Maybe someday sweaters will touch each continent. Antarctica might be tough, but sweatery hope can overcome any obstacle.

Patrick joins us from the west coast.

Gray wool!

Props to Patrick. He sent me his sweater at 5:45am pacific coast time. Way to be a trooper Patrick!! We all appreciate your resolve. I feel I should also note, wool sweaters are a personal favorite. There’s some extra degree of authenticity in wool sweaters.

Aubree is up next!

What bold color!

Aubree, you look awesome in this ribbed purple trutleneck sweater. How vibrant and exciting! It’s clear you put it all on the table on sweater Thursdays. We’re glad to have you here.

Jon Abad arrives next, and doesn’t disappoint!

The style... the professionalism...

Jon Abad, you dapper, dangerous, man. If your sweater vest wasn’t enough, your stylish glasses frame, and dignified look of austerity strikes fear in all who oppose you. You are a man of action and pose. You are sweatered with rigid pride.

Colleen is back for more!

Colleen with a blue and white layered combo

Colleen! Another bold colorful look this week! Great choice. Colleen sent her picture in with a note:

In last week’s comments I said that I would take a pic this week with Google (my cat – not sure if you ever met him in college) but he was not cooperating this morning. He refused to lift his head up. So here’s a pic without him, but I might submit another one tonight if he’s feeling photogenic.

We can’t wait to meet Google! I think you should save him for next week though. Plenty more sweater weeks ahead! And I seriously love that blue color. It’s so vivid!

Eileen sent in a picture!

Classy Black Cardigan

Wow Eileen! What a stark contrast to the mangledwear of last week! You really brought the whole outfit together with the matching earrings and necklace. Your layering color is an excellent choice, it highlights your rosy complexion. The Management here at MikeDiDonato.com is impressed.

A big hello to newcomer Kevin Black!

Kevin Black in Blue

Kevin Black has joined us with a zippered blue on red choice. Kevin Black, it is obvious to me that you are happy and excited about Sweater Thursday. I am very pleased to share this weekly event with you. Excitement over sweaters is only a good thing.

Are you wearing a sweater today? E-mail a picture to MikeDiDonato AT gmail D0T com and I will update the post.

Thanks to all participants. We’re glad to have you with us.

I was up at 4:55am in order to drive the wifey to the airport. Took the photo on the walk through the tunnel to work. It’s an early-arriving culture at work… I wasn’t quite the first one in, and now at 6:12am, about a third of the office is already in.

(If only I had an early-morning airport delivery during the movie before-and-after…)

I only own four sweaters, and three of them are wool (the best two are still to come!)

Good to see that you survived the deer. Sometimes those can be really nasty.

By the way, that camera angle makes you look like a giant.

I can’t wait to see your other wool sweaters!

My next two sweaters are from wool from the same country. The first will tell you which region of the world we went to on our honeymoon. The second will tell you the exact country.

(Only the second I bought on the trip, though. The first one I’ve had for several years; bought it here in the US, and it wasn’t actually knitted where the wool is from. Wool is definitely more processed and with a tighter weave, so it doesn’t feel as “authentic”, even though it has a nifty pattern. )

Oh no! Can the car be repaired with duct tape? Maiming a medium or large mammal while driving might be my number one fear. Did you maim the deer? I am tempted to keep a loaded gun in my glove box just in case this happens to me so I can quickly shoot the victim in the head and end the suffering.
    Nice sweatering!

I think yes. I think the car can be repaired with duct tape. Stay tuned for pictures.

I’m hoping the deer lived. The police officer and I couldn’t find it… thankfully I was only going about 35 or 40 at the time of the impact. Here’s to hoping that lady Doe is doing just fine.

I thought your garage door fell on your car when I saw the picture…I read further and realised that is not the case. Whew!

When I hit a deer in the Buick the deer flopped around for a little bit then ran away. Granted it was only a sideswipe, I don’t think anything would have been left of the deer if it took a Full Frontal Hit (FFH) from the Buick.
