Last night the garage door guy came to the House of Rock. We’re getting new garage doors with garage door openers at the House. This, coupled with a new driveway, should make winter at the House of Rock much more enjoyable.
Brian, the garage door guy, showed up and almost immediately commented on the drum kit in the garage. We talked garage doors for awhile but kept reverting back to music.
It turns out Brian is a guitarist in an Indie Thrash band (Flee This Room)
Finally after all the garage works were figured out, Brian was getting back into his car when he turned and suggested that instead of parting ways we jam for a little bit.
So, that’s what we did.
During our conversations, I also learned that he takes Kung Fu and loves Karaoke. Awesome!
He should be in your karaoke band, right?
Well, it must be said that he’s a much better guitarist than I. I think he doesn’t have to be in Karaoke bands because he’s a strong enough player to rock his own scene.
Kung -fu Mikes too Rad! and too modest!
I’d be happy to fill in for a couple songs with a few weeks notice, I could sit around and wait for the rock lottery at the bar for some pantera solo:).
If the decision hasn’t been made yet…my 2 cents is that I think you should go the rock route but I’m definitely biased. Till then:)

I think we have officially decided to focus almost entirely on rock music. There’s no amount of Rockstardom that can justify my learning Whitney Houston tunes.
After some additional thought, I realized that if this Karaoke band wants to play weekly we’ll very likely need a mighty list of substitutes for those times when a band member can’t make it.
