This has taken entirely too long to happen.

As much as I dislike the concept of “USB-powered” things from an engineering perspective, this is a golden concept.

“USB powered” really only refers to things running on 5VDC, which in the world of TTL and CMOS devices is extremely common. And frankly extremely convenient, despite Aaron’s objections, per a EE design standpoint.
Still, this is a crazy cheap price considering the transformer cost, though I suspect they cheaped out like whoa on proper capacitance in order to properly filter the AC ripple, which will likely wear the heck out of your batteries in a jiffy. And per Shuan’s recent difficulties with USB charing stations even using 12VDC as an initial input, I suspect this product is full of stray current just waiting to blow through fuses, or in this case, your USB device’s usable lifespan.
But hey, China is doing crazy cheap things nowadays, so maybe this is a real golden ticket?
