Jackson Pollock is a mystery to me. Why so valuable??? If you can explain why anybody would pay more than a handful of boogers for a “Genuine” Pollock , I’m happy to hear you out.

I think it’s some sort of oxymoronic art world “worthless insanity becomes rave of critics” stereotype-cum-masterpiece myself, but I have to stop thinking about it before I start angrily shouting at strangers and their small children.
Or, maybe I’m just jealous that I didn’t think of dribbling paint on canvas for money first.

This will keep my toddler entertained for minutes on end. She likes to play in MSPaint, so it’ll be somewhat familiar.

I rationalize it by looking at the reason Warhol was famous. His ideas don’t seem original now, but then they were. When you look at how many amazing artists took him as their inspiration, it’s hard to criticize them without feeling like a moron. See also: Sonic Youth, Husker Du.
