My sister Tree once came up with the great analogy of trying to accomplish the impossible: “It’s like Sewing Molasses to a Potato”
This world needs more hilarious analogies like this one. Here’s my challenge to you, come up with absurd analogies that could be used to describe a scenario. (similes and metaphors are cool too)
A few examples:
The tumultuous day progressed like a bodybag rolling down a hill.
She could build a bridge out of gravy and optimism.
Morning hit like a wrecking-ball to a church.
Good luck!
I saw through that lie like cellophane on a stripper.
It was hotter than the devil’s car when he leaves it parked in the sun all day.
Some jerks are allways trying to ice skate uphill.
“a bonus MikeD point if you can name that movie”
I’ve heard of the variation of “trying to nail jello to a tree”
and the always favorite, “When mom started yelling the kids disapeared like a cupcake on Sander’s desk.”
“That’s as likely as Mike D leaving Connecticut” to describe the low likelihood of something happening.
oh burn!
I clearly see your point.
Blade rules.
Though it should be said that rare too is the occasion when the rest of you guys visit me in CT.
“She’s a Cheez-it on the floor” (a woman you would pick up even though she’s probably too dirty)
“Like a schoolroom in July” was always a favorite.
I visited CT, from WA!
“Knee deep in alligators” FTW.
I’ve come every time I’ve been invited.
touche.
I don’t remember Blade saying “jerks”
I like the classics
“I’m out, like a fat kid in dodgeball”
“I love ****** like a fat kid loves cake”
And he just said leaves CT. I go to CT often to visit the Inlaws.
“I’d like to lick the icing off of her cake” is another gem I’ve been known to use.
