Whispering Hints of Motivation.

I’ve been feeling a desire to run and lift more aggressively again. Lifting and running faded away within the past year with the increasing complexities of work and school. My lunch time work-out was traded for lunch time vedge out and running has virtually disappeared from my schedule. Outside of Kung Fu and my occasional weekend climbing, I’ve been pretty stagnant.

Kung Fu is going well I suppose, though I need to attend class more regularly and I need to strengthen my legs. When I do get to class, I often find my knees helplessly calling for reinforcements. Not a good thing.

Perhaps I’ll be able to figure something out.

My knees have always given me trouble. I found some knee strengthening exercises on the internet that can be done from an office chair, but I lost the link when my favorites disappeared about a month ago. I only ever did one of them anyway.

My little sister has a knee injury from Army training. Her physical therapist said a good way to strengthen them is leg lifts with ankle weights on. I haven’t tried it because ankle weights cost money that I don’t have, and I’d feel ridiculous strapping a bag of dried beans to my ankle, as per suggestion.
