I had surgery on my ankle 14 days ago, on June 26th. Looking back at the wind speed archives, it has been windy enough to kiteboard on 10 of those 14 days, or approximately 70% of the time I’ve been laid up. I guarantee you that when I heal, we will have no wind at all.

Schenk – I think with the combined brain power of you, me and the D we could make you bionic.
Did the surgery have anything to do with kiteboarding related injuries in the first place?
No sir, it did not. The problem with doing “extreme” sports is that you always injure yourself doing something stupid like walking from your car to your porch.
Yeah. I was body surfing in the ocean yesterday (which I do NOT consider extreme) and mashed into Alicia… HARD. And though I outweigh her by 2x, the hardness of small shins beats the power of big toes. Thusly, I may need foot X-rays when I go home, limping.
Huh, “thusly”, who knew…

In other news, we still took her Subaru off-roading (or ON-beaching) this morning. Ripping across beachy dunes at 40+ mph searching for wild horses WAS a little intense, especially since EVERYONE else out there had a Jeep or better and our ground clearance was NOT what I’d call “comfortable”.
Nice. I’ve taken our trusty Subaru Legacy onto the beach. The fear of getting stuck certainly made for an adrenaline rush…
Subaru 4 life (or something equally hip-sounding)!

Here I was hoping this nifty video would take people’s attention off of my fatness…
