What’s the closest you were to missing?

This post was started 12 minutes before the hour it was suppose to get put up. It was actually scheduled… just two minutes before appearing. And even then, I read a mistake afterwards and had to change it four minutes after it appeared.

Being pointed to this post reminds me of a question about the bracketing I wanted to ask (maybe you answered this ages ago and I missed it)…

How did you decide which bands ended up in the large initial brackets vs. the small? How did you determine who would get the byes? I’m just saying, if my choice doesn’t win, I might feel the need to point out that it had to win 5 rounds to get the finals, whereas Feisty Vomits only had to win 4. Just sayin’…

    Good question.

A random number was generated for each band name. The band names were then ordered according to their sequential random numbers resulting in a random list. These were then placed into the bracket in order. So the positioning of any band name is random.

And yup. Some band names had to survive an extra round. But if a name had lost at any stage, then hopefully whatever beat it would be superior anyway.
