What ever happened to the classic, halarious character-bashing of TV and movies of the 1970’s? I mean there’s a lot of smack talked on TV, but nobody ever has funny, degrading catchphrases like we used to see on Sanford and Son, or All in the Family. Smokey and the Bandit (in my top 10 movies) has some good ones –
“There’s no way, *no* way that you came from *my* loins. Soon as I get home, first thing I’m gonna do is punch yo mamma in da mouth!”
This is probably the funniest thing that I’ve ever seen – ever. Anybody else know of some good stuff from that era (80’s are ok too! Oh, Uncle Buck)?
I think Arrested Development has some pretty crazy writing….
