Last night, at Kung Fu, I was promoted to Purple Belt.

That’s weak yellow on the far right and extreme purple on the far left. It almost looks blue in this light. Here’s a better picture showing the color:
Purple belt is exciting because it’s the first belt at my academy where we get to start using weapons. This belt’s weapon is the bow staff. This makes perfect sense because Donatello, of the ninja turtles, used a bow staff and his color eye band was purple.
It makes me happy that my Kung Fu academy stays true to the Ninja Turtles.

touche!! I take back my “stay true” statement.
I guess purple is the only real TMNT connection. We learn sword at Red belt… and really, that should take place at Blue. And blue doesn’t even get a weapon. Poor Leonardo.
Perhaps once I have a mastery of kung fu, I will start my own academy where I train specifically according to pop culture references.
so what would it be…like a mix of Ninja Turtle and Power Ranger References? I can’t wait till I make it to Hockey Mask Rank!! That weapon is all sporting implements!
