I’m feeling a little annoyed today. This past weekend was so fantastic with such a wealth of outdoors adventure, it’s making this week at work really tough. It’s extra hard because outside my window there’s a gorgeous blue sky and it’s 80 degrees with a light breeze.
Cubical life can be stifling.
What’s your workplace like?
Flourescent and dull. I’ve been having this same problem since the dawning of the warm weather a few weeks ago. I am not getting any of my work done and I just want to sit outside and eat popsicles and ice cream all day long. WHINE.
Today is one of those days I wish I could just sit in my cubicle all day and not talk to anybody, just do some work while listening to music.
But it’s not one of those days, so I’m forced to keep walking around where there aren’t ANY windows and I’m left with the cold shoulder of flourescent lighting…so impersonal.
i get to work on boats in the middle of the connecticut river or in the rivers leading up to the long island sound… i can’t say that i’m upset with my life right now.
For some reason it’s always super stuffy in only our bay. The A/C must not work properly in here. But sometimes (especially now that the facilities nazi was fired) we open the doors when it’s nice.
I read your comment as:
“it’s always super slutty in our bay”

Are you catching Sander’s dyslexia?
Oh, nice. Slip in that comment about the window in your post. At least you HAVE a window.
Someone tell me why it’s so funny that the air conditioning in my building sucks so badly. It’s either frigidly cold or swelteringly hot in the conference rooms. Hint: It’s funny for the same reason that the elevators that are so damn slow at the Farmington Leadership Center are funny.
I just got my first workplace! It’s a cubicle, but whatever. Our building is small so two sides have views of buildings, one is a street and one is a river. It’s in downtown Chicago (a plus) and so for lunch I can sit in a little plaza by the river and eat. Or walk around and do stuff. Today I went to the post office in the Sears Tower. Amazing! The only bad thing is that around rush hour(s) the traffic cops whistle alot, and there’s plenty of honking–that is very annoying.
