Music Knowledge

Team MikeDiDonato .com? We can do this.

Roommate Liz sent out this image. The goal is to identify the bands that are payed tribute. We can do it folks. Rumor has it that there are 74 bands.

I think I have abou 43 of them… so I think that 74 number is wrong.

In any case, let’s get ’em all.

Jane’s Addiction (the chic with the Cowboys)

…I only thought of this because they came on my iPod, then I looked for something in the picture. If we follow this method we might be done in a month!

Okay, so it’s a stretch. But the two guys in suits could be Agent Smith. Right? Right?

Urgh, maybe not. They have colored ties.

I was stuck on that calendar forever. I scoured the wikipedia entry for Aug. 21 for a clue. Then I was all, “why green? why is it a green… day-I’m-a-moron.”

Hate to ruin the fun, ok no I don’t, but whoever thought this up obviously doesn’t give a rat’s behind about semantics. Several of the names on the list are individuals, not bands. Sometimes split hairs make all the difference.

    Nice job ruining the fun!

The official game doesn’t say “find the bands,” so much as “exercise your music muscle.” If you’re going to diss the site at least diss the right person. Instead of “whoever came up with this” you can go ahead and say “mike d, you’re an idiot for relaying the wrong rules.”

Lastly, I feel I should mention that mikedidonato .com is probably not the best website to read if semantics are critical to your enjoyment of a Music Knowledge find the band game.

Ooh. Seems like I hit a nerve. What do you expect from someone who you likened to Darth Vader? I don’t think you’re an idiot. I just like being difficult. I happen to think you’re brilliant, and I very much enjoy being part of your blog. But if you want me to leave, I will.

no no, forgive my assault on your comment. I read it at a moment of personal angst and carried that negativity into my response.

All are welcome on my website and I encourage you to find and point out the subtle errors in my grammar and use of phrases. It’ll make me a better writer in the long run.
