Skyline 18

Congrats to Jocelyn and the Design studio for successfully identifying last week’s skyline as Kathmandu, Nepal. Also, great job goes to Patrick for identifying the satellite image which was also Kathmandu, Nepal.

I am running out of Skylines!! If you happen to have any hanging around on your hard drive or if you live in a location that has a skyline and are willing to take a photo, I’d love it if you’d send me some images.

But for now, you know what you need to do.

Identify the skyline and the satellite image.

Good luck!

The satellite city starts with the same letter as my first name. This was my second guess. I got really lucky on this one, because I don’t know why I guessed this city second. Maybe it’s because my dad went there once and really enjoyed it. He brought me back a pencil-sketch of a cello that he bought from one of the street artists.

Based on your clues I got the satellite city on the first try. I think it helps that I took a trip there just a few years ago.

I’m jealous that you got to go there! This is one of those cities that I want to go to some day…

I still don’t know why I guessed this one second… my dad went there over 10 years ago (after the split, though). It’s probably because I recognized this satellite as European, but not one of the big cities I recognized. And because this city is one that I’d like to visit someday.

My grandparents, while not of descent of this country, live in the “_____ Capital of Kansas.” Oh, and one of the hard-core orienteering families here in Seattle is from this country and they speak the language a lot at meets.

I figured it out on the first try too, based on Patrick’s clues. I’d like to go there someday too. I have some friends who’ve been and they say it’s incredible!

I just saw the new James Bond movie tonight, and the opening scene is in this city. When the city name and country showed up on the screen, I immediately thought, “Hey, that’s the Mike D. satellite image city this week!”

When I saw the new James bond, I immediately thought how the first Mission Impossible movie (you know, the last good one) took place there as well. I think that has a 30% spy populace.

since everyone else is being ridiculously vague with their answers, i’m going to point out that the satellite image is prague.

and the skyline is the Reunion Tower in Dallas (courtesy of will)

Whoa, it’s Prague? I was completely wrong on that one. I thought it was Poland.

Whoa, Poland isn’t a city? I was completely wrong on that one, too. :)

Roland sounds like he should be from Poland. Maybe he is. In fact, I’m sure that he is. Therefore, Poland must be in the United British Kingdom of Great England.

And James Bond is Britishish, too, which makes perfect sense since the opening sequence is shot in Poland. Gee, I’m sure glad I figured all of that out.
