Annnnd…drum roll…. it’s no longer a direct flight from New York to Beijing!!!!
That’s right folks! we’ll be stopping in San Fran. What does this mean for travel times?
Instead of a comfortable 17 hours of travel, I get to travel for 26 hours!!
I leave at 4AM EST Thursday from the HoR. I arrive at 6PM China time on Friday. That’s 6AM EST.
The good news is that we get to rest for a full day in Beijing before heading onward to our final destination.
When you land in Beijing, watch out for muscle atrophy!
Are you going to visit the Forbidden City while in Beijing??
Can anyone remember that board game for kids that came out years ago? The game’s catch phrase was “It’s FOooooRBIDDEN!!!” Help my ailing memory!
Only thing I can think is Taboo. Don’t know if it’s a kids game. Never played it.
Did you get your seeting assignments, to know if you got good seats, or if you’re stuck in the middle of the 5 row?
China is very cool, I hope you have at least a bit of time to look around a bit at things.
Be sure to get up and walk around once in a while so you don’t get DVT.
China isn’t so different from the US, after all they make half the stuff we buy over here. I hear they have a great wall.
Will you bring me back a Panda???
I get a window seat for the first flight, after that I’m not sure. We find out at the gates (boo!)
I know that we’ll get 1.5 days in Beijing… this makes me very very happy.
I’m going to be super disappointed if the wall isn’t great.
And I promise that if I find a suitable stowable panda, I’ll pick it up for you.
I was thinking Legends of the Hidden Temple for some reason. Then I remembered that’s not even a board game, it was that crappy Nickelodeon show.
