Mike D Eats: Proud Lunch

I’ve decided to start including a small spinach salad in my daily lunch. I’m very proud of the lunch I pack. Here’s an image of today’s menu:

Delicious!

That’s pulled chicken and a salad on the left, oatmeal (a sometimes item), hardboiled eggs, peanuts&raisins, a variety of fruit (apple, pear, orange, & banana), a yogurt, and some skim milk. I usually also bring a carrot, celery stalk, and a quarter cup of cottage cheese but forgot to include it in the photo. They say that diet is 80% of fitness and I am a firm believer in that. I still crave greasy pizza, soda, and such… but I’m perfectly satisfied with some fruit and veggies.

That looks disgustingly healthy. Only 80% fitness? I’m pretty sure everything there is good for you.
I give in to my fast-food-for-lunch cravings all too often :(

What. The. Hell. How long does it take you to prepare that lunch? That is a freaking buffet.

My lunch is two tuna sandwiches (mustard, light mayo, tuna), and a pack of poptarts. Occassionally sneaking handfuls of pretzels from the break-room. I would kill for that kind of a spread at lunch.

i think he means that 100% good for you food is 80% of fitness not 80% good for you food which would be 64% fitness.

My lunch (almost every day is) one yogurt and green tea for breakfast and a salad (spinach, pear, gorgonzola, walnuts) from a local natural resteraunt for lunch with a seltzer water. Except thursdays, which are free lunch day, when i eat whatever filth they give me. I also get coffee sometimes.

    Yours looks better.

Jon is correct. Fitness, they say, is 80% diet and 20% exercise. So if you want to rock out in the fitness world, what you eat is more important than what you do.

I am a believer of this theory.

I probably spend about 15-20 minutes preparing my lunch. The meat and hardboiled eggs are only items that eat up time. Usually I have breakfast at the same time. It’s all about multi-tasking.

I highly recommend bringing lunch. For a little extra effort you can get a great meal for pennies!

Spinach pear walnut gorgonzola salads are Awesome. I’m jealous of that. mine was simply Spinch, green peppers, and tomato.

Mike D, you have inspired me. Today I had a pretty healthy lunch (salmon & lettuce sandwich, beef & salad wrap, raw carrots), then played Ultimate foir 2 hours this evening (and did extra exercises afterwards), and now having just returned from Ultimate, I am tucking into pasta and salad. Compared to what I normally eat, it’s a goddamn Christmas miracle.

Really? I’ve not heard that before. I guess it makes sense, although it’s kind of annoying because I don’t eat a lot of healthy food, yet I do a fair amount of exercise and I always thought it evened out.
