I wouldn’t call Guster garage rock at all. Weezer, maybe, and that’s only because they have a song called “In the Garage.”
The big ones to me (at least in the modern garage rock revival) are The White Stripes and The Strokes. I’d throw Jet in there, too.

Perhaps Folk Rock as an additional category. An example of folk rock being Ani Defranco.
Would Emo Rock be considered a category (a la Death Cab for Cutie)?
And as part of my personal vendetta against all shitty rock, I would have another category called Fake Modern Mainstream Indie Rock. Example: the billion and one Interpol/The Clash/Franz Ferdinand hybrid clones out there.

“Indie” is not a style at all. Unless you want to get into metal, “Hair Metal Rock” should not be here, instead the bands in the category would go under “Heavy Metal” or “Hard Rock”.
Igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rock are types of naturally occurring aggregate of minerals and/or mineraloids.

I like rapcore bands such as Pleymo, Feverish and 3 Degres Est.
Fred Durst is the lead singer of Limp Bizkit. Personally, I’m not a huge fan. But to each his own.
I think it’s safe to say that Fred Durst is terrible, opinions be darned. But some “rap-rock” can be ok. Examples: Borealis, Zebrahead.
