I think you meant “you’re” not “your”

I feel it should also be mentioned that there’s no way I could lift you kurt, with or without a back brace.

I have to second Kurt’s response.

I do like how in the kitchen video someone was about to give some advice or logical reason as to why its hard to lift a fridge.

Thanks for the back up Jon abad. I’m trying to prevent you from blowing your back out man, not perfect your grammer. Perhaps you should empty the fridge next time. Cause I’m assuming you were trying to lift it full of food. And seeing as you and jesse combined weigh a little less than a baby whale, we all know how much food was in there.
And you are correct, you could never lift me. I grease myself with bacon fat every day, just so I’m super slippery.

Either that heater is way heavier than it looks, or you are a big sissy.

I took a stab at your grammAr because I thought you were joking around. Finding out that you’re seriously commenting on my lifting technique confuses me a bit. I take quite a bit of pride in my avoiding lifting from my back. This is supported by the fact that this morning my legs are sore and my back is fine. So I reviewed the videos, and I’m still confused. Let’s take a closer look at some stills from each of the videos.

Is there something that I’m really missing here? The only video where I feel there’s even a slight chance of potential confusion for my lifting technique would be in the acclaim video, as I needed to reach under the car to get a handhold. There’s a few moments when I’m at the front of the acclaim where back lift may be taking place, but besides that I really don’t see any potential back lift action going on.

It is made of cast iron.
Its only painted to look like styrofoam and thus make MikeD look like a big sissy.

I love it. For the sheer ridiculousness of having “here’s Mike D failing to lift stuff” videos. Also, the sound effects:
    NNnnnnggggggBBFFFFGGGGGGGHNNNnnnnnnngggGGGGG!

This is totally the most entertaining blog ever.

hahahah this is awesome. I wish there was a web page dedicated entirely to someone who can’t lift things, and every week there would be a new video to show this person failing to lift something rediculous.

Hi Mike, thought you could use Dr. Abby’s backup here.
From the standpoint of a physical therapist, your body mechanics are quite good.
The literature on back braces shows that they are quite useless when it comes to preventing back injuries and provide little more than simply a reminder to use proper mechanics. You are clearly beyond them.
Also, in response to the deep squat comment, muscles have the best power output at the mid-range of the joint they move. If you had gotten into a deep squat, the muscle fibers would have been stretched too far to “grab” each other, so to speak. This we call passive insufficiency. Again your technique here is flawless. Keep up the good work.
