While Shaun McQuaid’s requirements for “fatty brown belt” are below, I had to learn the first Kung Fu form (Sep Gi Chun (sp?)), and also perfect a variety of basics including:
in/outside crescent kick, inch kick, backfist, upper/lower block, onestep front/round/side kick, twist stance, cross stance, pun’ cue, gow choy, front elbow, and two self defenses. And I had to learn but not perfect back kick, sowchoy, fall breaks, and various grab releases. It took a bit longer than I would have liked because I didn’t get much form instruction in the beginning. I am going to try and stress form work in the early stages of Orange belt.
Good job! I didn’t even know you did kung fu!
I have a friend who is a black belt at Karate, and therefore is an actual real-life ninja.
I was recently demoted to “Fatty Brown Belt” when putting on my pants. I no longer am capable of what I once was when I was a “Slimmer Brown Belt”.
Congratulations! What were you required to know in your style in order to attain your rank?
Basically how to eat a lot of food and transfer the bulk of it to my waistline.
