Acclaim Story

This morning the Acclaim was a block of ice. After fridgedly chipping thorugh the ice on the driver side I found the that lock was frozen over. 5minutes later I was breathing hot air onto the passenger side door lock. Finally, I was able to get my key in the lock. I got inside and turned the car on. After 10 more minutes of ice chopping to free the windshield wipers, I was ready to go. My fingers were falling off from the bitter cold, my feet were caked with snow, and as I stumbled into the car from the passenger side door my shoulder hit the rearview mirror which fell off.

Despite all this, I still love my car to death.

Same thing with the VW, it was so frozen up i couldn’t get my hand around the door handle.

However, the Prius being hte Prius, when I walked up to it it lit up like it was happy to see me, i grabbed the door handle and the whole thing unlocked itself, pressed the on button and it applied those big batteries to defrosting and we were off in no time.

In all fairness, icing up isn’t representative of the Acclaim’s reliability. And when 500 pounds of Mike D. (fat!) hits something, falling off is nothing. I’ve seen him ruin oh so many climbing holds. And those things are designed for hurricane level forces.

    Anyhow, it’s frigid, and sheppard.

    Haha
The other day my car was so cold the passenger side door wouldn’t close properly so I had to tie it closed with string to drive to work. Thankfully it had thawed enough when I got there to work properly again.

I saw a truck the other day at an intersection. It was OLD. and the women was fiddling with her driver side door. at one point she opened it, and slammed it abruptly.

Upon doing so, her passenger side door opened.

You have a garage, MikeD. If you parked your car in it, you wouldn’t have these Ice over problems.

you’re right. in fact, last night we made the big move into the garage. I think it’s safe to say that the acclaim will enjoy shelter for the rest of the winter season
