Library Robots

Got me a library card yesterday. It was fun and exciting because seriously… it’s like having a really book wealthy friend who’s always willing to let you borrow their books.

If anyone wants to read along, my first book to tackle is SALT, A World History. Everyone I’ve spoke to who has read it, loved it.
The library gives me three weeks, so I intend to take exactly that. First deadline: November 15th. Feel free to find the book at your local library and read along.

I also had a very vibrant dream last night.

I was feeling a bit sick at work and decided to see the company doctor. I signed up for a 6:30 appointment right after my friend Steve Werlin. Meanwhile robots were taking over the company. thankfully there were a bunch of classic cars and motorcycles hidden underneath the floor and people were jumping into them to race away from the killer robots. I hooked a ride with a girl in a red dress who drove a red Karmann Ghia. A co-worker of mine was making passes at red dress girl’s sister (who also wore red). In all the robot fleeing, I forgot about my appointment with the doctor and didn’t show up until 7. Thankfully they let me still see a doctor. When I reported to my patient room, there was a free fruit buffet. Strawberries and pineapple. oh, it was great. The Janitor said I was welcome to have some food.

Instead of linking a Google image search of “red Karmann Chia”, you should have linked one for “girl in a red dress.”

C’mon, that’s like 1/4 of your crest. You don’t have Karmann Ghias on your crest.

Here’s my stab at your dream.

That the ‘healer’ comes from your workplace and that your appointment is associated with your good buddy steve suggests you view work as a good place, even if it makes you feel sick sometimes. It also is a source of stress- any exact time references suggest potential for anxiety.

There’s a sense of turbulence in your dream shown by robots taking over the company – are aspects of work out of your controlled? do you feel your human side is under-appreciated? is there a lack of congruence between “mike the person” and “mike the employee”? Mobility, expressed through the cars, offers the idea that you crave a sense of freedom, or more importantly, expression, that cannot be found at work.

This is where your dream shifts. I don’t know the allusion to Karmann Ghia, but I know red to be a powerfully-charged color, one that hints at intense desire for something. It doesn’t have to be sexual, it can be any desires that you have. That a co-worker is making passes at someone also in red suggests that you don’t feel alone with your passions that aren’t in the workplace. These passions make you late for your appointment, a point of anxiety as mentioned. Do you fear an interference of your out-side-of-work interests with your work endeavors? You may, but you also have an uplifting, positive approach to work. They forgive you – there is acceptance. That they give you strawberries, another potent symbol of desire, suggests that you can integrate your passions with your career. I bid you good luck.

“Look at this guy here! He must really love salt.”

“Without salt, people could DIE. And as we know, death is a very, very bad thing.”

Salt is more important than people think.
It can be used to store meat, makes almost everything taste better, and can be used to remove tattoos.

The next MSPaint topic should totally be “library robots.”
