back!

I’m back from my trip to England! it was a good time, but the entire trip was shrouded in a veil of exhaustion. 14 hours of flight, 10 hours of driving, and 18 hours of meetings over four days is a lot. But I ate very well and the meetings were productive. I’m finally feeling refreshed after some serious rest this weekend. Our flight’s feature film was Herbie, Fully Loaded. What a Ride!

I snapped a few photos of the hotel and such but have yet to take them off my camera.

This is a triumphant week in Mike D history, as I will be starting classes for my masters in Mech Eng. I am not very excited, but I do hope that it will go smoothly. To compensate for the dreary life that will accompany the return of Homework, I am bumping up my physical activity a notch in hopes that I will reach new levels of fitness.

In other news, Jill, Ruth, and Old Man Schenk visited this weekend. We hit IKEA and made lots of delicious food for consumption. It was fun. Usually I don’t like vegetarians, but Ruth and Old Man seem pretty cool. I think they might be carnivores at heart. I will continue to use peer pressure to convince them that bacon, is in fact, Rediculicious.

Goodluck buddy! My first lecture for my new course is tonight. I’m taking a course in “advanced manufacturing processes” with Prof. Rong (insert ‘industlial lobotics’ comment here). Should be fun.

I on the other hand am not taking classes. I am taking this outlook on the whole masters thing. Undergraduate Degree = x years, where X = 6. Plug that into some sort of Theorum and extrapolate on the hypotanouse. The end result is I will 47 when I get my masters degree in anything. I’m comfortable knowing the little bit of knowledge that I have retained after years of drinking and debauchery will be sufficient to get me through life. Also my wife makes some serious BANK!!!
Similarly amusing is if you take that same theorum and plug all that same info into it, but make a few extra calculations using shauna’s numbers, undergrad in 4 years, MPH in 2, she could have a pHD in like 45 minutes.

I took industlial lobotics with Rong. It took me a week to figure out what he was acutally saying with “lobot conchul”. Good luck with school Mike, you are making the right choice and it will pay off big for you later.

Yeah Mike, school is fun. Also, Sisson and Rong tried to convince me to do my thesis with them and go to China for a year. Clearly, I chose not to, because I would come back sounding like that. Could you imagine being in China for a year? I would feel like a big fat giant.

It gets worse! When I think China I think Dragon Dynasty Lo Mein and Fried Chicken Fingers!

But it turns out Chinese food here isn’t anything like the stuff they eat over there! What’s the deal?!?

Hey Mike D, have you given any thought to the contest proposed by Ben?
