Next week in England

Next week I’m going to be on a business trip in England. That’s right folks, while all of you are suffering with $3.00 a gallon gas prices, I’ll be riding high with $4.00 a liter.

So, I’m going to attempt another MSPaint request event and will set up an automatic post for each day next week. I will only be creating four drawings, so be creative and make your request stand out.

    MSPaint request:

TeenWolf (Micheal J. Fox era) eating a porkchop in a fancy restaurant. He is sorely diappointed with the cooking, but the atmosphere and service are impeccable. A tuxedoes waiter with an awesome moustache is hovering over him, filling a water glass. The waiter is upset because of troubles at home, but he does not let it affect his professional life. He is a seasoned veteran of the service industry, having worked in 5-star establishments from Vienna to Barcelona, yet now he finds himself in an Emeril’s in Santa Barbara. He wonder’s where his life has gone, if his life has had any meaning at all. He likes to tell himself that service is its own reward, yet he is aware that this is little more than a security blanket, not unlike telling himself that a deceased pet is happily living on a farm. He pours the water into the glass. That is all.

    Picture this:

The Cakeler, which, for those of you who have forgotten is a eerie mix of cake and cobbler, modelled somewhat after the Hamburgler and somewhat after Mayor McCheese.

Setting: A Matchbox 20 concert. The Cakeler has stormed the stage and is upstaging the band with a rendition of “I Will Survive” (the Cake version, of course). The band is disgruntled, except for the lead guitarist, who is dealing with a situation – his guitar has taken control and is making him play along. He’s surprised and frightened, but he can’t help but play.

Also, the crowd at the concert is being swept away by a wave of lava. The unluckiest soul, right about to be overwhelmed by the lava, is, of course, Spiderman.

Remember the game rampage, where the monsters would climb the buildings and fight?

I wanna see a battle scene where there are the 4 monsters standing vertical (building like, if you will) and there are instead robotic-building like combatants climbing the monsters and fighting eachother and smashing the monster-buildings and eating silly english people and breathing in their fog. Oh, and the buildings are also: the house of parliaments (or atleast the Big Ben tower), Tower Bridge (can be a tag team duo of two conjoined twin robot fighters if need be), and the Eye of London (the ferris wheel).

    Ohh going to England!
You are becoming a jet setter Mike D, do you have a passport?

An interesting fact, only about 9% of Americans have passports.

Out of interest what part of England you going to?

If London, an interesting fact, mayor Ken Livingstone wants to get rid of London Buses or routemasters as we call them. It was in the paper this morning.

i’ll be in Basingstoke, Hampshire. How close is that to you Marian? we’ll be flying into Heathrow around 8pm on Monday then I think someone is picking us up to drive us to our destination.

I do have a passport, in fact, this will be my third time to Europe. The 9% thing is an interesting fact. kind of sad.

Ahh yes. The millenium dome. what a hideous piece of forgotten architecture.

it’s sad for America because people like Kurt will forever fatten our streets. it’s actually quite a good thing for Europe.

Marian, be excited that you will never have to witness the corpulence that is Kurt.

It’s not two far, I live in Buckinghamshire, slap bang near Berkshire, which is above Hampshire. Heathrow is the nearest airport, you shouldn’t have to much of a drive, well maybe a little!

From this map you’ll see, I live near Slough (yes trampy area famed for it’s huge trading estate and the office, actually the bus station at the beginning is Brunel Bus station, that’s where I get my buses. I work in slough you see on saturdays)

I want an mspainting of a walrus sleeping in a bed that’s too short for him so his poor flipper hangs off the end. He’s been trying to sleep but he just can’t. He should also wear a nightcap.

Yeah, it’s the mayor’s house or offices or something. It was more impressive when it was being built. A large pickle-shaped scaffold is exciting, no matter how poor the end results are…

I’m still not understanding why it is sad to not have a passport? I’m not a big fan of visiting foreign countries at this time. Would I like to see the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, Stonehenge, and a mushroom bar in Denmark? yes I would. But I feel that there is so many amazing things here in our own country that people dismiss in a mad rush to get to Europe, and other places beyond. I’m glad that I am able to say that I saw the Twin Towers, I visited New Orleans and the French Quarter. I’ve been to the Grand Canyon of the East, and I’m looking forward to the time when I get to see the real Grand Canyon. I love this country, and I want to see what we have to offer.

I don’t think the monuments and buildings are the main reason that we explore other countries, I think it’s for new cultural experiences. Granted Alabama and California are both culturally different from the northeast, but nothing compares to the shock that is being completely immersed in a foreign society where everything is different.

There’s nothing comparable to sitting in a meeting at Gillette (an american company) in England (and english speaking country) and not being able to understand a SINGLE WORD coming out of some people’s mouths. Incredible.

Plus, can you top holding a piece of ice that Pierce Brosnan drove his car on top of during the filming of ‘Die another Day’?

Yes I agree with that. But Your not answering my question on why its sad that 9% of americans have passports? I just don’t get it. “it’s sad for America because people like Kurt will forever fatten our streets.” What does that even mean?!?!?!

But my MS Paint Request: Space Penguin
You can choose to go with the actual thing that “looks nothing like an actual penguin” or a penguin from space…

I disagree Mike. Just cause they don’t have a passport doesn’t mean they won’t get out fo the country. I have my birth certificate and my liscence. Thats all I need. I got into and out of Mexico just fine. Just because you don’t have your passport doesn’t mean you won’t visit other countries.
But I do agree with your statement that few americans will visit another country. I wouldn’t be surprised if the percentage of americans that have visited another country wasn’t much different than the other percentage.

Tim: Did you not get frostbite on your hand?

Interestingly on the subject of James Bond, when me and my family came to New York last July, our taxi driver LOVED my dad’s accent, apparently he sounded like Pierce Brosnan in Bond.

Me, I can’t quiet hear the resemblence!

What is the Grand Canyon of the East? I’ve never heard of such a thing.

I’d like to see an MS Painting of this Grand Canyon of the East, along with the Grand Canyon (of the West), in kind of a David vs. Goliath motif.

Mike, remember that Morrisey put the ‘M’ in Manchester, not MikeD so don’t go telling people that you did or they might get offended. For real real.

Also, Kurt can’t get a passport because they can’t get his whole head in the passport photo.

I want to see a MSpaint involving the House of Rock being attacked by mutant sea creatures. One of them should be climbing the rock wall after Mike D. Possibly shooting lazers or something. One should be holding a rod and reel, trying to hook Kurt with a hamburger.
