I like the sailboat behind the final picture of the castle. Did it finally succumb to forces of nature and meet its watery demise?

It did. though, I stopped taking pictures because the final moments were a huge violent game of “king of the mountain” where we were all throwing each other off the submerged mound of sand into the impressively deep moat.

Now I know the Vermonster is a yearly tradition but is this sandcastle thing a tradition too? Is there some sort of “Lets build it bigger than last year thing?” going on, or was it just a whim? What is the tallest you have made this castle before?

yes, The castle is a yearly event. Although we missed it last year due to an untimely business trip.

this was by far the largest castle. A few years ago we made an 8 footer, but this one had 5 additional 4 foot castles around the perimiter. It was mammoth.

Next year we’re going to try a different layout.

    How’s your ear?

So, does everyone know that we’ve got a spot on the B&J wall because of the vermonster triumphs?

Mike – I scanned the Vermonster pics that we had at home- they’re now on the Elmhurst Rd computer. I have V of 2003 and 2004 on this computer here in providence, so the only year I’m missing right now is 1998 and 2005 (I think. I have to do a search for 2001 and 2002, but I think they’re on the desktop that’s not hooked up in my room). The final step is to get mom to email the scanned Vermonster photos to me. I started but it was taking waaaay too long (oh dialup, oh dialup).

Cool pictures of the castle. You should add it your site that it was the 10th year of the vermonster. By the way, if your looking for more vermonster pictures from years past let me know, we have a bunch.
