This car is outta control.

I finally got Connecticut plates onto my car. It took well over 12 months for this to occur and while I’m a bit disappointed to see 9 9 1 – 9 A T go, I’m excited to welcome 4 0 9 – T Y K . the new plates look good on the car. I think the crisp newness of the plates matches the hottness that radiates from the rest of the body.

Despite all this, I think I’ve determined what the “big sound” is. Every once in awhile, when I start from stopped, there’s this giant Ka-CHUNK. And I think it’s the transmission. I’m not sure exactly what I should do about this. I’ll probably mull over it for awhile, and then decide to just run the car to it’s demise.

Excellent idea mikeD. Run it into the ground. I ran a cars transmission to hell. Just before the Taurus died, I was putting a quart of both trnsmission fluid and oil into the best a week. My parents wouldn’t let me park into the driveway it leaked so bad. so now there is a permanant stain on the road infront of your house. ahhh…..memories

It might be a CV joint, those are rumored to make a clunking noise on start and stop when worn

then again I thought I needed a CV joint and apparently it was just a tie-rod

    1. Hotness? Maybe, but it’s no “Chariot.”
    2. I’ll figure out what’s wrong with it buddy.
    3. THE CV joint, not “a” CV joint. And this probably isn’t it, as this usually shows up around turns, what with that being its purpose and all.
    4. Transmission would be unlikely. Clunking doesn’t come from it. If the mounting bolts to the engine are loose, you’d have fluid leaking. So it may be mounting, but usually a lot of this stuff kinda floats in a FWD car.
