    I was informed yesterday that such articles of clothing are in conflict with the United States Flag Code, which are guildlines set up to detail proper respect and handling of the flag, it can be found here http://www.bcpl.net/~etowner/flagcode.html section 4 has ways that the flag should not be used

    Good find Shamus!

    I’m curious as to whether this only refers to “the flag” itself. Item D clearly states no wearing the flag. But is it okay it wear a representation of a flag? what defines a flag? Item i specifically states that printing representations of the flag on advertising is disrespectful. But what about on clothing? I think we need a more detailed set of rules.

    clothing is a commercialized product, and in some sense inherently a form of advertising.

    good rebuttle. and also a great reason to critize the overabundance of flag products that have saturated our stores since 9/11

    However, I will continue to wear my flag tie on occasions such as flag day and independence day. Because really? I think it’s pretty festive.

    No you are not the only one. I think you are mistaken though, in that is his birthday face. I think that is his “Look at my fly tie” face. His birthday face is much different I have a strong feeling.

    i agree with the “form of advertising” idea but you’re advertising america… but in a good way, not in a creepy way like this poster.
