Automatic Post #5

This is an automatic post.

This is the fifth of seven. Each post contains a MSPaint masterpiece that fulfills a request made last Wednesday by mikedidonato.com readers.

uh.. taxi?

notes by the artist:
Definitely the most difficult so far, detail wise. Being able to portray a person or character accurately is a huge task in MSPaint. Spiderman turned out mediocre. I had to do quite a bit of pixel by pixel editing to make it so that the web on his outfit didn’t end up making him look like graph paper.

I wanted a feeling of desperation in this piece. A superhero? Needing a cab? it’s a brilliant concept, and certainly one that was deserving of my time. I was thinking about putting a cow behind the fence on the left of our neighborhood hero, but I decided it might make the area seem more populated. And I wanted the viewer to think Spiderman would be waiting a long time.

The only reason there’s a fence is to create a little perspective. Without it, the ‘field’ looks like a strange green wavy wall.

I do think he will be waiting a long time. I don’t know how he will get back. I guess he could wait til a circus drives through the area then swing home on the Giraffe necks, but they might not like that and try to eat him. I guess he could just take a cab, but honestly, I wouldn’t pick him up if I was a cab driver.

    I sense Spidey’s desperation…
No buildings to web swing from?
    Whatever will he do!?

So he tries to hail a cab, but little does he know that out in the farm country, there are no cabs.

poor spidey. and anyone who drives by is going to think he’s some hobo in a halloween costume.

well, right until he webs on to their car and rides on the roof. that might convince them.

Spidey really is in a pickle here. Unless he is in one of those back-asswards countries that make their citizenry drive on the left-hand side of the road, his wait is going to be quite long.

Ray! How dare you, ‘back asswards countries’ ??? I hope your not referring to the wonderfulness of GREAT Britain (my home country).

My only complaint is that Spidey is not actually IN the field. He’s actually outside it, as indicated by the fence. When I orginally viewed Paul’s request I was picturing more of a mini Spiderman in a vast, sprawling field. But I can’t put my money where my mouth is, so good job Michael.

Sorry I didnt post my comments before, but I’ve been busy. I have to say, that is the best MS Paint drawing of Spidey ever! (despite the kankles). But yeah, originally I did envision spidey in a huge field (like Mike D’s Spider-man dream/nightmare), but realized how stupid I was to ask for him trying to hail a cab…having the road there makes more sense.

Did anyone else notice that Spidey has a GIANT hand, and that his legs seem a bit stunted? I contend that this is not the true webslinger whatsoever, and is in fact an imposter midget that Mike got to dress up and stand by that field just for his sick little games. I’m thinking a midget or “little person” as it were, since the only access Mike would have to a spidey suit would be from when he was 10 and dressed up for Halloween. And we all know how many “little people” Mike is in cahoots with. Who’s with me?
