Rock Climbing

Last night, I climbed my hardest route to date on the rock walls. It was listed as a 5.10+, but it was by far my greatest accomplishment thus far. Although I expect very few of you to appreciate the awesomeness, especially through my MSPaint techniques, I have included the picture below as a tesimony of the route. All red holds are considered ‘on’. All aretes (edges) and walls are on.

5.10+

The wall is about 40 feet high, and the pitched section is probably at about 60 degrees from the horizontal.

It was a mighty accomplishment. I think I’ll be attempting 5.11’s within the next few months.

I think Red was a poor choice for the color of the holds. It looks like a wall spattered with blood and guts.

Excellent climb Mike. I’m assuming that is a Prime Climb route and I’m pretty sure I
remember seeing that climb. Well done. By the way, that is a wonderful paint job.

Maybe I’m not seeing this route correctly. Can you take a picture of it with your palm pilot then msPaint it with Vibrant Green on the ‘on’ holds so I can get a better perspective on the route. that would be good. ps I handled Tetanus with my hands today. it was in a bottle and didn’t lock up my jaw at all. Way to go me.

Sweet! I’m still waiting for the day I travel through CT and have enough time to stop by good ol’ Wallyworld to embarass myself on the wall of blood and guts.

Dude I thought that you were illustrating a fall at first, a fall that led to blood spillage. Glad you didn’t get cut up.

Ben: Rock climbing is the closest I can get to real life Halo without guns. Or armor. Or Warthogs. Or Aliens.

Kurt: If I remember, I’ll definitely take a picture of that wall.

Joe: you really must join us. it’s a heck of a good time.

Theresa: Yes, thankfully no blood spillage here. Next time I’ll color the holds blue.

Megan, I think you’re right. But I’ll likely wait until May-ish. As by then I hope to have enough coupons from the gym to buy a rope.
