a simple sudden impulse to quit

At least once every few weeks I just want to quit work and hike the Appalachian trail.

pluses:
1. lots o’ nature
2. physically challenging
3. once in a lifetime opportunity

minuses:
1. no salary
2. no girlfriend
3. major stall in the career

Sometimes work really weighs down on me and I despise it. Othertimes, I think it’s worth it. Most of the time I’m right on the line.

Conclusion: I will have to play more guitar in an effort to expedite a new lifestyle of rock and roll.

One of the grad students working in the lab that Tom was working in did this. Quit his job and hiked the trail and then went to grad school instead of back to work.
On a more keeping your income note, maybe it’s not the working so much as the particular job you have that is getting you down?

Here’s another con: Your Feet Expand. That’s right. They will be permanently bigger.

Also, you might be lonely, cold, tired, and hungry.

Alternatively, if you simply decided to go live on a tropical island, you’d only be lonely. Not cold, and not hungry because of the coconuts.

are big feet a bad thing?

And yes, it might be this particular job that’s weighing me down. but I honestly think I’d have this feeling regardless of the occupation. It’s just the requirement of ‘work’ that stinks.

That’s why I don’t work. I plan to be in school forever.
