IKEA!

well, it’s official. I have made my first purchase at IKEA. and what a purchase it was. in the words of alicia I’ve “stepped away from style” and managed to change the complete outlook of my bedroom with four new pieces.

First, I bought two giant bottle shaped lamps. They glow with the strength of a thousand stars.

Then I bought two freakin’ ginormous leaf canopies that now drape with zest and vigor above my bed. please follow the link below for a picture.

whoa

My bedroom is now two steps closer to being a jungle.

    I’m gonna have to disagree with Alicia.

    Style is actually running away from you.

    I’m pro-leaf canopies and pro-lamps but not together.

    Also, you need new sheets.

    I knew I’d get your seal of approval on the new decorations. I think, however, you’d be impressed at how well the lamps and leave go together when you have the whole room in front of you. They create a strange ensemble that can only make you think: “wow, new age jungle!”

    side note: The bedding is actually sammy g’s. I was thinking of buying some wild sunset looking sheets that have an orange and red glow about them. it really would have completed the room. Sadly, I’m moving out of this apartment in a few months and I’m not sure what bed size awaits me. So I’m waiting until I have a more permanent home before purchasing those sweet new accessories.

    Nice lamps. Nice leaf shaped overhang things.

    Some day, I hope to have a cool room like you.

    The leaves are amazing! I currently have one over my shower, transforming it into a tropical paradise every morning!

    Actually Tim… I have THREE pillows. ::a-hem a-hem::

    And Kate, you need to get a second. The multi-tier effect really makes the tropical paradise so much more realistic. I’m impressed by the shower idea. Clever placement.
