Aside: Do not underestimate a staining event. This took the two of us 4.5hrs to complete. The spindles felt like a marathon.
Please note: Not only did we stain the deck, we spray painted our grass a gross yellow color. Awesome!

I am currently in the process of staining a pair of French doors and their accompanying trim. I’m doing a little at a time because I’m new at it and the ventilation in my living room sucks. This project has convinced me not to stain my deck. I will paint it instead. But kudos to you! It looks awesome!
The only thing I’d consider with painting a deck is the effort involved for refinishing it. If you paint, in 5-10 years you might have to sand the deck if you want to refinish it and sanding is a huuuuuge pain. I think with staining you can apply a chemical wash and then just restrain it: no sanding required.

At this point, I am willing to take it. I have to redo a bunch of what I’ve done. Maybe I should stop trying new things….
