Until that point I had always had .5/.5 in my coffee or whole milk, but I sucked it up and dealt with drinking it black because we lacked refrigeration. By month's end, I was used to drinking it black and couldn't think of adding anything to it, which I stuck to until I stopped drinking it regularly, all together. You just have to go cold turkey. Which is easy when there is no other options. I quit smoking the same way. On my CO climbing trip, I brought a French press for coffee.
