		<description>Bummer. I  used to do this all the time, usually after the pasta was added, then I would be alerted by the gross smell of burning pasta once the water boiled away. 

Teflon does start to break down around 500F so it probably not good to use anymore, degreaded teflon is not good for you from what I hear.</description>

The other day, I forgot about meat on the stove.  All the water simmered away, and the meat burned.  Fortunately, I managed to save most of the meat, and we were able to have supper.</description>
