Amazon’s Kindle is pretty intense. Shamus/Andrew, is this related to e-ink at all?
What makes this one so interesting is that they’ve hooked it up to an online network so that buying becomes easy. It’s a shame the books aren’t free like with a library… if so I’d buy it in a second.

Yes, the kindle does have an E Ink display.
Interesting, E Ink is not the only unusual display technology used in the Kindle. The little scroll pointer on the edge is a reflective Cholesteric LCD, if I remember correctly. As well, if I were to guess the cause of the extended back order situation, this little display is the culprit.
