Guitar Names.

February 21st, 2008 by mike d. in RockStar

currently eating: chicken salad

First of all, have I mentioned how much I adore my guitar? It is so perfectly hot.

I’m here to talk a bit about names for said guitar. I contacted Cindy. She’s pretty amazing at coming up with good names for stuff. I sent her a picture and asked her advice. She responded with the following suggestions for guitar names:

Lust Storm
Red Devil
Dionysus
Specific Heat
Olivia
Pandora
Ambrosia
Stolen Fire
Prometheus
Persephone

And there are still those that were recommended previously:
Mary Jane
Gillian
Slayvixen

I still think sticking to the Female names is gonna be your best bet mikeD. I like Gillian though.

Aphrodite, goddess of love?
Belisama, Celtic Goddess of light, fire, forging and crafts?
Chaos?
Daphne, who was changed into a tree?

Specific Heat wins. The rest are too mythological.

If you’re going for female names, Spessy could be short for Specific Heat.

I still like Gillian but Ambrosia would be my second choice.

To bless the mighty ax with anything other than a female’s name would be fairly blasphemous and would raise suspicions.

Dude name your guitar something REALLY manly.
Like “Chuck Norris.”

All right, I have to say it: Specific heat is too nerdy a name for a guitar. If you were Elvis Costello, maybe - but you’re NOT! I’m still lobbying for Gillian.

I kinda like Persephone, provided it’s pronounced correctly. And I think this post should have a pic of the guitar for quick reference.

If you love this guitar as much as you say you do, I believe the only logical choice would be to name her “Natalie”…
