Climbing + wedding = ?

Tony and Paulette are getting married on Saturday, Oct 6th. Amazingly, Paulette has agreed to let Tony do some quick rock climbing in between the ceremony and reception (Paulette is awesome). Unfortunately, Paulette said she didn’t think she’d be able to do it herself because, well, it’d be hard to get a harness on while wearing a wedding dress. In fact, even the approach would be tough considering the fact that wedding dresses are phenomenally and notoriously white.

well, unbeknownst to Tony and Paulette there has been a conversation in the works regarding the difficulty of allowing Paulette to climb on her wedding day. A solution was necessary.

In response to this conversation I received an e-mail from my sister Alicia that contains perhaps the single most bizarre link that has ever been provided to me.

Trash the Dress.

What?!

WHOA!

the last two images are, well… a little strange, but that first one? HOLY HARDCORE.

These are some of the hottest most amazing wedding pictures I’ve ever seen.

The bride isn’t actually in the burning dress. So it’s not as hardcore as it looks.

Fantastic photos though. Someday when I get my sweet digital SLR camera…maybe I’ll have time to learn out to take great photographs.

well. That fact ruins part of the photo for me.

Though the idea is still clever.

the fact that she wasn’t in the burning dress…

or the fact that they sacrificed a blow up doll from an adult store in said burning dress?

The tool does not an artist make.

Some of the most beautiful photos in the world were shot with a $20 Holga. You can make great pictures with your current crappy digital camera, you just have to find out what it’s good at. And with the wealth of photo manipulation software, you can do all the color and exposure, formerly done in the photo lab by professionals (or trained monkeys, depending where you sent your film) yourself, so I say just go for it!

Actually, the bride is in that dress. They wanted to put out the fire, but couldn’t justify wasting the water.

Amen. I just got back from Oregon. There was a low tide at sunset on a perfect, cloudless day. We went to Haystack rock (Goonies) to watch it and take some pictures. When we arrived, there was a photo club from Seattle setting up thousands of dollars worth of equipment. They were doing tiny adjustments and pushing each other out of the way for the best shots. I walked up with my cheap digital camera and took a few photos.

When I looked at the pictures I took, they were amazing. I can’t image that any of the photo club’s shots were better than what I got on my cheap equipment.
