MSPaint Entries!

June 11th, 2007 by mike d. in Features, MSPaintContest

Dun Dun Dun!

We have a solid 7 entries into the most recent MSPaint contest. The challenge was to depict “When Rubik’s Cubes Attack!” using only MSPaint or a Mac equivalent. Enjoy!

Rubik’s 1 - Angry and vicious… these cubes are ready to strike. (entry is large, click your mouse to close)

Rubik’s 2 - A giant cube crushing an Anime chick?

Rubik’s 3 - Burn and Pillage! Burn and Pillage!

Rubik’s 4 - “That’s no puzzle cube…”

Rubik’s 5 - ‘We are Borg.”

Rubik’s 6 - Simple and straightforward.

Rubik’s 7 - The drama is palpable.

Great job to all the contestants!

#1 - Good artwork but lazy use of copy/paste.
#2 - nice curves but she could getting crushed by any set of 2D primary colour shapes.
#3 - Cool epic scene of warrior cubes conquering a moonbase - I like the fully completed commander.
#4 - Interesting idea but the execution looks a little too much like the Borg took over the Empire.
#5 - Despite my strong Star Wars bias I prefer this to #4 - it’s simply a better concept.
#6 - Heh. I’m imagining the cube screaming “REARRANGE THIS, BITCH!”
#7 - I’d probably understand this if I knew what the blck round thing was.

a)#3 - I love how the cubes have little arms, but no legs. Do they hover by Rubik’s Cube magic, or do they have to flap their arms really fast?
b)#3
c)#7 - Very silly, I love it. It’s very PBF, somewhat like this strip.

Favorite - #6. This is halarious.
Artistic - #1. The cut + paste is kind lame, but the skills of whoever drew this are clearly evident.
Inane - #5. This super-obvious Trekkie reference is pretty inane. At least #7, although horribly drawn, is clever.
