No need to mock lead any more! I am loving the real lead action.

Real leading action is also great for the calves.

I would be lying to say that I didn't find myself in such predicaments before.
I remember TRing Saturday Night Special, scoping the gear placements and deciding it was way to R for my comfort.
Mike, a piece of advice, if you want to lead, stay away from Cathole, if you must go to Cathole lead Pegasus, or Golden Book, they are the only two climbs with decent enough gear in that whole choss pile, my suggestion would be to stop going to Cathole.
The second piece of advice is STOP MOCK LEADING!!!

Wow Mike D, that sounds scary. Rock climbing is scary. If you ever take me climbing again, I hope it's at the indoor place...

Those sound like some crazy climbing (mis)adventures! First off, Saturday Night Special is a 5.9- (though I agree it feels 5.8ish). The official gear rating is PG/R..so yeah, not so good. From the times I've been on it, I'd def say more R than PG (I haven't lead it, but I have climbed it a lot). Glad to hear you got through it without any major troubles though!

Sounds a lot like my day of Ultimate in London yesterday. I did some pretty cool stuff (some sweet passes to score or pass to someone who could score), and a few pretty awful things (such as a really stupid pass to score that got intercepted, thus COSTING US THE TOURNAMENT! AUGH! Also I tripped over myself at the start of a point, which wasn't bad per se, but looked pretty stupid). But hey, it was fun and I'm sure I (and you) learnt something from the experience.

Edison always said that he liked failures because then he knew another thing that didn't work...
And then there's always the NASA "successful failure" made famous by Apollo 13.
