No commentsI love Phil Plait’s bad astronomy section of Discover. It is reliably filled with awesome information.
Take this article for instance. It talks a bit about Saturn’s rings and our somewhat unique orientation to those rings. Before you click over and read the article, take a guess as to how thick Saturn’s rings are.
Yay Space!

7 CommentsThe red ‘people’ can’t touch the ground. If they do, the program modifies the car slightly and tries again.

Authored by: mike d.No Windows. I do not want you to restart my computer automatically, destroying all the work that I’ve been working on for the last few hours.
Please stop. Please.
Authored by: mike d.I’ve been thinking more about the design of my cubicle. And frankly, the gray walls just aren’t doing it for me.
I think I need some wall paper. I did a Google search for Cube Wallpaper and stumbled upon Cube Chic! It’s a book that helps you “Take Your Office Space from Drab to Fab.”
It looks like the first step to this madness is to come up with a theme.
As I look around my office I see the following:
Rock climbing calender
Boat photograph
Sweet pipe painting
Two wooden shelves
lots of miscellaneous paintings
some paperweight sized rocks
and gray.
Everything else is gray. A gray desk, chair, guest chairs… everything.
Obvious theme choices would be Rock Climbing, or Rock in general. But I’m not sure how much I could develop this space with either of those themes.
Reader Suggestions?
